kthomas62 44 #1 Posted March 13, 2021 Guys, Last year, I bought a new hitch because the hole for the axle pin was wallowed out and the front axle was sloppy. My question is, how go you get the attachment shaft out of the old one? I ended up buying a good used one because I needed to get my tractor back together but just wondering how this is accomplished. Thanks! Kevin
Pullstart 62,806 #2 Posted March 13, 2021 Kevin, I believe there is a series of c clips holding the shafts and springs and stops in place. They can pop out with a flats blade crew driver or some small needle nose pliers just dandy. Kevin

The problem I ran into is the shaft seems to be just long enough that I wasn't able to slide it to one side and bring it out of the other hole.
Pullstart 62,806 #4 Posted March 13, 2021 Can it go all the way through?
kthomas62 44 #5 Posted March 13, 2021 5 minutes ago, pullstart said: Can it go all the way through? The vertical plates on each side limit the movement because they sit just inside the hitch. It's not a huge deal because as previously mentioned, I already bought a good used one but while I was looking for some other parts, I remembered that I have a brand new hitch out in the shop and wasn't able to use it. pfrederi 17,674 #6 Posted March 13, 2021 There are three E clips on the rod one on each side of the disk and one on the spring end/Take them all off and the rod will push out and the disc drop off.

kthomas62 44 #10 Posted March 15, 2021 (edited) Guys, I apparently failed to explain with clarity. What I am talking about, is the lower attachment locking bar in photo 3, that I am holding onto. The top piece does come out if all the clips are removed but the lower locking bar don't come out. As you can see, the new hitch comes with no other hardware and has to be moved over from the old hitch. The lower locking bar seems to be impossible to remove without bending the sides of the hitch and that would a difficult task! Thanks, Kevin Edited March 15, 2021 by kthomas62
pfrederi 17,674 #11 Posted March 16, 2021 The blue arrow is really a pin (#3 in parts diagram) that goes all the way through the yellow tube (#2 parts diagram). Just drive it out. 3

Thank you very much, that is exactly what I needed. I was wondering if it drove out but wasn't sure! Kevin 1
