Handy Don 13,128 #5 Posted March 11, 2021 Gotta be a short or open circuit somewhere. Losing power to the coil: A wire grounding out (or being disconnected) when the clutch is depressed or the shift lever is moved? Follow the wire(s) from the "+" terminal on the coil back toward the ignition switch. One of them is being grounded or broken or a connection is failing. Losing a good ground: Follow the wires from the negative terminal of the battery and make sure they are well-connected.

I have the same machine I know this is a gear drive version, but they have the same safety/interlocks on the Hydro version, not only that if the shifter/motion control is in anything other than "nuetral" and got off the seat it will shut down a well, there's another thread asking how to stop/shut down and older tractor with it running, if getting off and accidentally bumping the shifter lever.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,187 #9 Posted March 12, 2021 Added the ignition switch to the colored wiring diagram above and refined it a bit. There is also a service bulletin that may apply to the problem. Garry
