That thread also states there’s room for two “new” seals where one original may have been as well.

Yes, I think there is, and since the ones from McMaster Carr are only .250 thick, I may do that. Thanks

If you double the seals (which is a good idea widely used on old equipment that came with thick rawhide and felt seals) pack some grease on between the seals.  Keeps the outer seal lubricated and reduces wear from a dry seal rubbing on a dry shaft.

The hitch on the back of the 876 is stuck solid. I drilled and tapped 4 grease zerks in it, but I don't think it's going to help much. I have a simple propane torch with MAPP gas. Will this torch get it hot enough to make a difference, or am I just wasting gas?

This just has not been my day. :angry-screaming:I called the place where I took all the 876 parts for stripping. I took them there 2 weeks ago today, I think. Guy said they were done. "They have been done for a week" No one called me, says I. I guess they forgot, says he. OK, How much is it? I will run over and pick them up. Today?  Yes today.  He said they are not open today, he is not at the shop. IT'S FRIDAY!

"Yeah, the guys decided to take the day off. Make it a 3 day week-end. We'll be open Monday":ranting::ranting::angry-screaming::ranting::ranting:

Three beers is usually my limit, and I seldom finish the 3rd. Toady, I might have 4.

I once said I was never going to turn my garage into a paint booth again.:angry-nono: Yeah, well, you know how that goes.

I have a 'custom made' paint booth.  Only for 'smaller' parts though.  It's the cardboard carton from my new clothes washer.  Catches 'most' of the overspray but pull the cars out FIRST!

So far I have used 11 cans of paint. Obviously, the 13 I bought, is not going to be near enough. But hey, the store is only 40 miles away.20210407_080413.jpg.1b82b037a57be10b1880c5c8269d27fd.jpg20210407_080427.jpg.b407258e34c94fd67777b4c6df1c29c7.jpg20210407_080503.jpg.70430cac0a34cb54efc98291d1ecea49.jpg

P.S.  My finger is getting awfully sore, and I just can't get a feel for those pistol grip adapters.

If at all possible, I need a couple of measurements from an 876. This is not my 876 obviously, but it's the best pic I have for demonstration. I want to order tires for the 876. I am wondering, how big I can go. This tractor is not getting aluminum wheels. (yet ). I need to know the distance from the center of the axle, to the fender pan, all the way around, to know what clearance  I have. Thanks  Greg

Everything is painted. They all got at least 3 coats of red, and 3 coats of clear gloss. Not everything got clear coated. I was running low, and I didn't feel like making another 80  mile round trip  to the big city. (my wife didn't feel like it either) I saved what clear coat I had for the exposed pieces. Most of the smaller parts are in the spare bedroom, for a good day of hard drying. My wife really likes that part. :D Tomorrow I have one HE!! of a mess to clean up in this garage.:chores-mop:

OOPS  Forgot pic

Sorry... this just popped into my head.  Solo artist Dallas Smith, best known for his lead in “Default” a popular band in the early 2000’s I believe.

I'm not planning on aluminum rims for the 876 right now. I'll have to see how the whole tractor goes back together.

Sure is nice to have my garage back. I'm NEVER doing that again!  At least not until it's time to paint the 125.20210408_102743.jpg.246dde2d6e51514358abae7b7ad724d1.jpg

I have a roller, sort-a kind-a.  You can't steer it, no tie rods, and you can't roll it, the wheels hit the hydro pump. So maybe technically, it's not quite a roller. But it's got wheels and tires on it.  The hydro pump and filter might limit what tires can go on this tractor. Once I get some more wheel spacers, I'll know more.

You might think the wheels are a funny color for a Wheel Horse, and you would be right. They are however, a perfect color for an MF-14, which is where these tires and wheels came from. Wanna know what's on the MF-14? You will have to check out the topic "other brands" to find out.

I ordered another set of 4 spacers. That means I am going to have 2 left over again. :confusion-confused:

If possible, I need a pic of the parking brake, and belt tensioner pulley system on the right rear of an 876, My tractor did not have the spring, or the link, shown in the pic. I am trying to fab something up, but I need an idea of what is suppose to be there.

I have another problem. I have this part. That's not all bad. The bad part is, I don't know where it goes. I can't find it on the parts diagram anywhere.20210409_162813.jpg.14c04ebb94e3a1a54020a81f11a34a0a.jpg

I think that goes on the gunwale to tie up to the dock.  What they call that?  "Rope Cleat" ?
