JoeM 7,886 #1 Posted March 8, 2021 With spring just around the corner and mowing season closer I was wonder what most do relative to getting ready? I not one that puts them away wet for winter....... more like cleaned up. Any time the decks are off, I clean them and touch up the blades. I try to do this after the last cut in fall and oil the deck. For oil changes, I am big on hour meter servicing and if it is not close I will run it until it is closer to an oil change. Of course, the regular stuff, tire pressures, oil levels, top off with fuel and checking the belts. I did notice the one machine I use for most of the cutting looks like it lost some fuel to evaporation. It was full when parked and only ran once to move it. haydendavid380 759 #2 Posted March 8, 2021 One of my tractors is used year round, so for that one it's just another day. The other, spring maintenance is going to be focus on the deck. When I pulled it off for winter I cleaned and scraped it all out and out new blades on it. This spring I'm going to put fresh belts on the deck and mule drive and replace any bearings that need it. Pump the zerks and it should be good. I do need to replace an oil seal on the 312. It has a pretty significant leak on the the left side. I think its coming out of the brake shaft. I also have a NOS set of tins to put on it.

ebinmaine 69,713 #10 Posted March 8, 2021 2 of ours are the go-to workers. They're always in top operable shape year round. Oil swapped out when needed. Maintenance and repairs as needed. Trina's 867 Pigpen stays pretty much the same except removing the plow. My Cinnamon Horse C160 gets the plow off and tire chains off. I run loaded AGs but she has turfs and needs the extra grip.
