ebinmaine 67,626 #2 Posted March 2, 2021 7/16- fine x 1.5 or so long. @rmaynard Bob has a kit available with all ya need... 6
WHX?? 48,828 #3 Posted March 2, 2021 (edited) It's a good mod to do Huey and does ease tire swaps. Bob Maynard here was selling complete kits to upgrade but if you have a decent hardware store at your convenience 7/16-20 bolts 1 1/4 long. I like to put a thick washer behind the head of the bolt to be able to snug the bolt up better. Be sure to torque every thing to specific values for that size bolt. I also like to blue loctite them in. I be workin on EBs tractor I would use green loctite... These clowns like pics so who am I to argue? Obviously wouldn't have to get so pretty with the acorns for a worker but I feel they have more thread contact. Edited March 2, 2021 by WHX24 13

WVHillbilly520H 10,373 #9 Posted March 2, 2021 Cub Cadet jumped on this band wagon from the factory in the late 80s early 90s. Should have been an industry standard.
JAinVA 4,619 #10 Posted March 2, 2021 (edited) In the GT price wars back in the day ,parts count reduction was money in the bank. One stud and 1 nut as opposed to 1 bolt . I guess the bean counters won and I think thats why the change to 4 pinion transaxles. Edited March 2, 2021 by JAinVA

DennisThornton 4,769 #13 Posted March 2, 2021 I had to put my filled rears back on once more and I just wasn't willing to fight with them again so I put in one single bolt. All I needed to hang the wheel. If you don't have enough at least put in one stud.

Thats sorta what I done, I had 3-4 7/16 bolts in the misc hdw box so I cut the heads off and dressed the threads where I cut and use 2 as temporary studs to just get it lined up. As soon as you get one started the rest go quick.

I put star lock washers under mine and not the cheap Harbor Fright ones either. Along with the blue glue. And 70's Chevy Camaro lug nuts. 1 1
