Nothing beats metal on packed down snow and ice! Pretty good in dirt and mud too where maybe ags would be OK. We don't get much snow down here. Every other year, we'll get four inches at once, but it melts within a couple of days. It does rain a lot in winter though, so we get to deal with mud. The ground never really freezes. This property is on near solid clay, so nothing soaks in, it just runs. It is slick when it's wet, though. I'm going to look for some chains.
