can you put chains on ag tires?

You can put chains on ags.

It isn't easy but It can be done.

I run chains on my C160 with ags.

Done it for years 4 link and 2 link, but if I over decide to or find the need for again I will definitely spend the money for the "net" or "diamond" pattern versions.

Don’t sell a good Ag lug short now... but I agree a set of chains would make grip improved too.

You should know my stance on that, ever since going with the OTR brand I haven't had the need for chains (yet) I'm sure soupy/sloppy mud or ice could/would be a game changer.

Yes you can and they make a big big difference when in the snow. So they should help with mud to a point.

Up here, near the Canadian border, they make more snow, more often, for more months and apparently much more slickery than you southerners deal with!  Nothing beats metal on packed down snow and ice!  Pretty good in dirt and mud too where maybe ags would be OK.  But if you have serious snow and ice get some chains or studs or slip and slide.

We don't get much snow down here.  Every other year, we'll get four inches at once, but it melts within a couple of days.  It does rain a lot in winter though, so we get to deal with mud.  The ground never really freezes.  This property is on near solid clay, so nothing soaks in, it just runs. It is slick when it's wet, though.

I'm going to look for some chains.  I think I'll need them.

Place an ad on our classified Wanted section.

Might be someone here with a set they don't need.

@WVHillbilly520H

I like those Diamond pattern chains!

Popular pattern for our logging skidders to run.

Pricey, but I think could be worth the extra money...
