Stubby 19 #1 Posted February 28, 2021 Just bought 416H with snowblower and tiller. Unfortunately the snow blower does not have a model tag. It seems to look exactly like my 06-42ST01 on one of my other tractors. The only difference is that the shoot adjustment does not have a spool for the wire. I am having a heck of a time wiring it back up. Thank you for any help.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #2 Posted February 28, 2021 Front quick hitch introduced in 1973. Snowthrower rear frame has a 5/8" diameter round bar. 1973-74 model 6-6212 plus 6-9113 1974 model 6-6213 - (First model to include 8-0221 extensions without the front straight return - just a flat plate) 1975 model 6-6214 - (First model to include 8-0221 [103552 replaced by 93-1617 and 93-1617-01] side extensions with the front straight return. First model to have a cable spool on chute rotating crank) Models older than 1975 did not have a spool. Wrong model but good instructions on replacing cable without a spool Garry
peter lena 8,587 #3 Posted February 28, 2021 STUBBY, very familiar with the 42ST01 , steel cable for that available at local h/w store , 1/16 to 1/8 , is all you need, the more flexible the better , you will never break that on the chute pull. in addition to the article I am sending , LUBRICATE EVERY AREA TO INSURE SMOOTH AND EASY FUNCTION . also lubricate chain auger drive and adjust chain , 1/2" slack on that . chain and cable lubricant . you can also use grass cutting line for cable , you will route this and correct as you go along , lubricate base of chute and roller guides , for easy movement . let us know how you make out , pete

peter lena 8,587 #5 Posted July 4, 2021 @stubby , thanks for the reply , whenever I look over wheel horse anything , I verify its INTENDED FUNCTION , then add and enhance that action. LUBRICATION AND SNUG ALIGHMENT FITTING MAKES EVERYTHING FUNCTION BETTER . typically starting off with a solid rust / bent set up , will get you more frustration . washer fill and lubricate those sloppy movement points , work easier ? you bet ! pete

Just find a spool, slide on, drill and pin? (or weld) @peter lena Edited July 4, 2021 by Jeff-C175
