Plumbing my basement toilet question

Ok, sorry to keep asking questions! 

 

I am installing a sanicompact toilet with built in macerator in the basement. It has a 9' head height and 120' run ability and I am way under that. But my issue is, it calls for 1" waste lines with long sweep DWV elbows. They don't have them local and I can't even find them online. 1 1/2" in the smallest. The directions say you can use two 45's instead of a 90 if the long sweep is not available. I don't know why the heck they recommend something you can't buy. 

 

Anyway, what I have done is bevel the leading edge of the schedule 40 pipe in the direction of flow. Is this okay? Am I just being a worry wort? This toilet will never see many solids so I guess I am not too worried about, but I do tend to worry about stuff that doesn't need worrying about!!

I have installed two of those and used black poly pipe, the one that comes in a coil, 3/4". One run is 100' the other is around 50'. 

Those grind up the solids and paper pretty good. One was done about 10 years ago and other 2 years ago. 

I know they like the discharge to go up from the pump and then it can go down. Both have about 5 foot of head from the unit.

 I see it is a compact mine were the bigger versions. What you got should work fine being 1 inch.

How about electrical conduit sweeps?

I think I will be fine with what I did, just don't understand why they specify something not easily found. They probably sell world wide and it corresponds to a metric size. 

 

Sometimes I just need a little hand holding!!

The two 45’s would do just fine if you can find those locally.  Those macerating toilets are tough little buggers!  Some will discharge through 3/4” pipe too!

Can't post that type of link here Randy. Do a search for 1" pvc sweep 90. It will include electrical pvc but there's plenty of plumbing as well.

Looks like the term sweep is what I was missing. I tried DWV, long 90 and others. Oh well, I will know next time!! I already bought the 45's and glued them up. 

 

Thanks for the info, I will file that away for future use!!  Tractors are the same way, new guys don't always know what to search for since they don't know what things are called. It's what make this forum great and others suck!! We never bash anyone for lack of knowledge, we help them learn.

Yup, I looked on there but didn't know the term to use. BUT.....8 bucks per fitting is too much! The 45's I used were 89 cents!!

I'm no plumber but I've plumbed supply and waste and managed a hardware store for years but I've never seen that done before.

Well the dwv fittings I looked at were made is in such a way as too not have any lip inside the fitting to not catch solids and such, so I thought I would bevel the inside of the pipe to help with that since I couldn't find any long sweep fittings in 1" locally. This toilet will never see many "solids" so I am sure it will be fine. I wish I could have found the right ones, but I guess we will see if this works or not!

Electricians bend PVC all the time using heat, search YouTube for ideas.

That's what I was thinking, I have heat bent miles of electrical PVC with little trouble. You need the right heat and time and patience, have seen sand put inside before heating, helps to prevent kinking. Bob

The two 45,s should be fine 

You also could check if your supply store has gray electrical PVC conduit long sweep 90”.  They are very common
