Yesterday at work I had to replace an hour meter on one of these tractors. Build a new one out of the box looked to be in good shape and when I turned it over this was staring at me. This had a sealed back on it!
I said that's it! Get a  hammer and grab a fork and spoon !  I'm hungry!

Too many to list!

The one that bugged me the most:

New boiler/chiller plant going into the Hospital. Pipefitters are installing valves 30 ft. in the air that will allow me to tie in the new chiller to the old bldg. in case it is needed. The pipes were run about 10 ft. overhead then turned upward to said 30 ft. to where the valves were. I asked them "Why the **** aren't you putting the valves down here?" (10ft. level) They say, " It's not that way on the prints!"  They WERE Not going to install chainwheels on the valves either. Why?  "Because it's not on the prints!" :angry-tappingfoot:What a riot it was installing the chains later.

A couple of days back a Coop employee sitting at a table with a bulk bag of screws counting out 100 pieces onto a paper dinner plate to put into smaller retail packages, I asked why not weigh one of the 100 lots then use the scale to save time.

As for other dumb things the list is long I choose not to remember these as I do not model my life on them.

I work for a municipality, the list of stupid things that people do grows by the day.  Or maybe it's just me!  :confusion-shrug:

Several years back I had a GE dishwasher with a mechanical timer on it. The timer quit working but I could turn the knob and go through the cycles. I removed the cover plate and an embossed message on the cover caught my attention. Basically it said that if the timer motor wouldn't work you could unplug and reconnect it and it should work. Sure enough it worked. They knew the problem existed but did nothing to correct it.               :soapbox:    I bet a lot of unscrupulous service/repair men carried a used timer in their tool tote and just recycled it and charged for a new one.     :angry-tappingfoot:
