Id like see hpw you guys are repainting/powder coating your dash boards and what colors you use. I already got my sticker kit from redoyourhorse just looking for pics and opinions. Thanks! By the way the 856 is running now!

My bad ....it's a long frame  

Word of caution when tightening the the choke and throttles the "D" hole does not keep them from turning and you can end up with a wrinkled decal.  Same with mounting screws.

It's a stainless/allen fetish! 

 

BTW Gordy just a shot coat of self etching and some light sanding and on goes the decal. If the dash is pitted maybe some filler primer? 

Might want to ask the master decaler @Achto what his method is.

If you get the one piece decal from Terry @Vinylguy you will only need to get a smooth paint job on the dash before installing one of his decals. It will come out looking like the one posted above by @Racinbob. 

 

if you order one of Terry's 3 piece decals then you will need to do more prep work on your dash. Either have it chromed or paint it silver. 

 

This dash has the 3 piece decal on it. To get the silver finish and make it look brushed, I painted it silver then waited for it to dry. After it dried I scuffed it with Scotch Brite making sure to only scratch in one direction, then I clear coated it. Applied decals after the clear had dried. Turned out great, looks even better in the sun.

Really great input you guys thanks! I do have the 3 piece decal but im not sure if i wanna do the white or silver...what are your paint choices? Also if i do silver i like that idea if brushing it with a scotch brite pad thats genious!

I used Duplicolor silver wheel paint, it's one of the few silvers from a spray can that can be cleared over and still look decent.
