Prolly took me more time to resto then to make new ones. I did find the SS jamb nuts local but CRS where?!?!? I think ACE in Wautoma?? I used yer nuts on Cindy's tractor. If you have to make the hanging bolt for the axle pivot make two. Edited March 12, 2021 by WHX24

Mine may need some alterations, the treads are stripped out on my frame. Don't think that it is thick enough for a Heli coil, will figure it out though. I'll be happy to make one for you though. What's your pleasure? Stainless, grade 3, grade 5, grade 8, "unobtainium" ?

WHX?? 48,815 #31 Posted March 12, 2021 Can you weld it shut and redrill/thread? There isn't much room on the backside to the steering pivot to do much else. Just enough for a jam nut. Just the opposite here the frame threads good the bolt threads gone. 40 minutes ago, Achto said: I'll be happy to make one for you though. What's your pleasure? Achto 27,576 #33 Posted March 22, 2021 (edited) Last weekend was a bit unproductive but I was able to do some catching up this week. All of the small parts got blasted in my cabinet through out the week and the large parts got blasted out side today. All of the bare metal parts are patiently waiting in our spare bedroom until next weekend when paint will fly. Edited March 22, 2021 by Achto 3
Achto 27,576 #34 Posted March 29, 2021 In an attempt to stay on my personal schedule I was able to make paint fly yesterday and today. Yesterday I sprayed white on the rims and seat, unfortunately I have to call a mulligan on the rims. I'm extremely unhappy with the way that they turned out. I messed them up pretty bad. Oh well, "pobodies nerfect" The red that I sprayed today went much better. Every thing except for the sheet metal as a nice coat of red paint on it. 4 7
WHX?? 48,815 #35 Posted March 29, 2021 How was that burrito Dan ... heard you you had the bit of the runs!?!? Looks good ... 'specially those two items to the far left!

Achto 27,576 #37 Posted April 4, 2021 After making a 6hr round trip run to adopt another horse yesterday, I had enough time left in the day to respray my rims. Second time was the charm , they turned out much better this time. With any luck I will be able to paint the sheet metal next weekend and then it will be assembly time. 4 7
Achto 27,576 #38 Posted April 11, 2021 (edited) I was able to prep the sheet metal today. First a little mud work to take care of some imperfections. After finishing the mud work all of the sheet metal received a coat of self etching primer, 3 coats of gray urethane primer, and a mist coat of black primer to use as a guide coat. Tomorrow's plans consist of scrubbing the black guide coat off with 400grit sand paper and laying down some nice red paint. WHX?? 48,815 #39 Posted April 11, 2021 (edited) So I know Dan and wasn't going to pester him with my 701 issues... I did get a half a roller tho and the F plate welded...yep I'm a flux core rookie but did see the errors of my ways so learning. Good enough for the women I go out with. Offer to come over and help wet sand but gotta go see dad tommorow. Edited April 11, 2021 by WHX24 Add 9

Achto 27,576 #41 Posted April 11, 2021 (edited) After about 7hrs of scrubbing on the sheet metal with 400 grit sand paper I could finally make some paint fly. Seems I showed pic's of the hood in my last post, I'll show the hood again. Paint laid down pretty good for a rainy day paint job. Now that that the sheet metal is painted I can start assembly soon. Pullstart 62,882 #42 Posted April 13, 2021 Is that your shop Dan? Where does all the stuff go when you paint? That sheet metal looks flawless! 1
19richie66 17,508 #43 Posted April 13, 2021 Paint does look nice. Mind me asking what gun/tip you use and type of paint? 1

Thanks Kevin, This is actually the shop at my Mom's. Between my dad & I there has been many gallons of paint sprayed in this shop over the years.

Here is a link to the paint that I use on all of my tractors. It's a single stage acrylic enamel, I also use their gloss hardener in it. https://www.vansicklepaint.com/products/performance-ag-fleet The gun that I use to spray with is nothing special or expensive. I use the large gun out of this set with the 1.4mm tip. My only complaint with this gun is that the larger aluminum cup that they sell will not fit this gun so I am stuck with the smaller plastic one that comes with it. https://www.harborfreight.com/professional-automotive-hvlp-spray-gun-kit-94572.html Edited April 13, 2021 by Achto

WHX?? 48,815 #50 Posted April 14, 2021 (edited) I'm liken those rears Dan I had an eyeball on them for the flame but the X 4 was a killer! Guess I just gotta run those old Pullstart hand me downs on my 701...that's alright my herd is ag heavy anyway! So anyway here's the ? gents... Dan thinks the front rims should be mounted with the valve stem to the inside which makes sense for stem protection and wheel weights. If that's true all my early sixties tractor are on backwards. Issue with running them to the inside the rim gets pretty close to the spindle arm. .... some pics as I was playing... anyone know which is correct?
