TJ5208 1,824 #52 Posted February 22, 2021 Okay I got the front weights done so check out my YouTube channel and I will have to put longer bolts for that that goes probably all the way through carriage bolts so it'll hold it better

Donor Raider 10 what are you putting it into??? Anything using a peerless would not be a easy candidate for transfer

I've never seen a Peerless in a with a horizontal shaft engine. If the mounting plate is the same as a uni drive tranny, your planned swap might be fairly easy. Lane Ranger 10,968 #59 Posted February 23, 2021 (edited) Yes the 800 special is a kind of unique Wheel Horse! My brother has one pretty original! I think it was a 1972 or 1973 tractor that Wheel Horse had a strike and so only managers were available to assemble tractors. The 800 special had a 9 hp Briggs motor and a special Peerless transmission. The rear frame on the 800 special was different also to accommodate the Peerless transmission. This is all documented in the Mike Martino book, “Straight from the Horses Mouth”! Edited February 23, 2021 by Lane Ranger

pfrederi 17,741 #62 Posted February 23, 2021 Any thing is doable given time, money, stuff and skill. But putting a Raider tranny on this machine would not be a quick easy project.
TJ5208 1,824 #63 Posted February 23, 2021 I just asked my dad if I could fill my tires are the antifreeze and he said no so I'm going to try to fill in pool water I guess why you saying that is because the tires won't hold is there so old so maybe if I just use water it won't waste much
TJ5208 1,824 #64 Posted February 23, 2021 Do you guys think I should just stick with the Peerless or swap because it seems nice and sturdy and I can cut the concrete blocks in between it

pfrederi 17,741 #67 Posted February 23, 2021 This is the best pic I could find right now as to how a Gear Transmission like on a Raider would mount to a WH frame. Significantly different than the Peerless mounting... Regular trany bolt frpm th e front of teh tranny directly to a plate on the end of the frame. The peerless mounts from the sides.
TJ5208 1,824 #68 Posted February 23, 2021 It will make him weight more and more traction with duals the peerless has a big axle do that will help fill a back fours maybe if I can get duals

The Raider has a bigger engine and much stronger transmission. It also does not look too bad in the picture, kind of hard to tell with the stuff around it. Your 800 is kind of a rare set up with the peerless transmission, this may add value to it down the road.
TJ5208 1,824 #75 Posted February 25, 2021 Text Diane I might think of that if my dad will give it to me I will probably just leaving saying for my heavy worker so I'll see what happens it's in Nice condition to
