TJ5208 1,824 #1 Posted February 22, 2021 Here's my tractor with duals or well just set the tire beside it how long of carriage bolts do i need and my first video under tj salyers scrapped all the paint so I can repaint it and get all the rust from underneath the paint the front tire so hope you like it more videos in the future
pfrederi 17,741 #2 Posted February 22, 2021 Bolt length would depend on the spacer you are using... 1
TJ5208 1,824 #3 Posted February 22, 2021 Do I have to use a spacer is it a good idea to fill all four tires with liquid rears or should I stick with singles I have new train and I don't have very much of a bumpy ride except when I get it towards the woods should I stay with singles or duals I pull alot of dead weight and trailer so do you think it's a good idea
953 nut 55,321 #4 Posted February 22, 2021 You will need to have a spacer to hold the two rims and tires apart. Do a search on here to see what others are doing.
TJ5208 1,824 #5 Posted February 22, 2021 Well I do pull lots of weight and I think duals will help
OldWorkHorse 3,045 #6 Posted February 22, 2021 Not sure what type of surface your pulling the weight on but from my experience duals spred the weight of the rearend over more surface so to me singles would bite into the ground better for more pulling power vs floating on top of the ground. Just my maybe I'm wrong? 6
TJ5208 1,824 #7 Posted February 22, 2021 Dirt i plan on filling the tires are 22 7 50 12 and they're signed by Wheel Horse so maybe that'll help
TJ5208 1,824 #8 Posted February 22, 2021 Can you run RV antifreeze and slime to stop leaks on the tires at the same time
TJ5208 1,824 #9 Posted February 22, 2021 I seen where people use PVC rings for spacers
TJ5208 1,824 #10 Posted February 22, 2021 (edited) Here's some don't know if it pvc or not Edited February 22, 2021 by Tj salyers

Duels add a real margin of safety when using a loader, but the axles take a beating.
TJ5208 1,824 #12 Posted February 22, 2021 So are you saying I shouldn't use them
OldWorkHorse 3,045 #13 Posted February 22, 2021 Cool factor I tottaly would but unless using loader or trying to spread ur weight out or on alot of slopped land I'd prob stick to singles myself. 1
TJ5208 1,824 #14 Posted February 22, 2021 Would they help pulling dead weight and trailers and stuff like that that's my plan spread out weight for more traction
roadapples 6,983 #15 Posted February 22, 2021 Personally, I think you'd be better off adding weight than width. I'm not a fan of duals, but it's yours. Make it the way you want it.
TJ5208 1,824 #16 Posted February 22, 2021 You for telling me that I probably will and I probably won't I'm not sure I want to get some more input on them so thank you for the information
TJ5208 1,824 #17 Posted February 22, 2021 Can you also put liquid and slime in the tires at the same time because one of my front tires leaking around the rim so would I be able to put the slime in the liquid in to
TJ5208 1,824 #18 Posted February 22, 2021 I do pretty much have some flat ground around here without a bunch of bumps on it so it shouldn't be too hard for the duals
SylvanLakeWH 25,600 #19 Posted February 22, 2021 Here’s a build I did with duals. Kept hardly any air in outside tires to keep impact on axles to a minimum. Only did it for the look. Personally, I’d stick with single for a worker... 2” wide 12” diameter pvc pipe spacer and 10” bolts... Cool and fun but took up too much shop space... 3
TJ5208 1,824 #20 Posted February 22, 2021 nice-looking tractor I'm probably going to put duals on him now I've already convinced myself for the cool Factor

TJ5208 1,824 #22 Posted February 22, 2021 I've seen that tractor before on here I think I was looking up duals
ebinmaine 67,627 #23 Posted February 22, 2021 Tj make sure you run very little air pressure in the outside tire. That'll keep some of the tension off the axles. Maybe 8 to 10 pounds on the inside and 5 or lower in the outside. Makes it so the outside tire can flex more.
lynnmor 7,308 #24 Posted February 22, 2021 The last of the dual kits from Wheel Horse included special hardened axles, what does that tell you?

Didn't know WH offered a kit. Got a part number or info? Wonder what was different about the hardening?
