Transmission dip stick/tube seal ---cannot find

Recommended Posts

I have checked parts houses for the dip stick seal number and can not come up with anything The end of the rubber seal is bulbous like an O-ring in function, However it is part of the entire seal and it has torn off on one or two tractors in the horde.   Oh, please oh mighty and wise experts , steer me to the path of parts finding happiness..

Do not think there is a separate part number for the seal.  Gear drives use 106447 dipstick, Eatons use 106446 both are NLA

OHIOFARMER, while i use the original part # as a reference , typically that leads me to another source. why not take your dip stick to your local H/W  store for an o ring match up ? one that fits snugly into the upper cone area? while you are there , pick up some dielectric grease , for electrical connections and equally important , its SUPER LUBE RATING for rubber slide fitting points , that will help lubricate the dipstick seal area and help prevent rubber tearing , the small drawer pull out section at local true value and ace hardware stores is loaded with lots of goodies , ask for help , pete

Actually, the seal o-ring as it were appears to be on the part of the seal that descends farthest into the bore.  A rubber cap with a very small tube used in respiratory equipment would also work and still use the dipstick to check fluid level. Thanks for your help. i think the problem may be PO not checking often enough and things gluing themselves in to the stand pipe.

I am aware that these are designed with a vent in the pull loop. At least now i know now that the part is NLA and maybe just call Lincoln or find another solution
