It's my thing, Bucket T / Sandrail

To be different the centrifugical clutch will be on the jackshaft

You can get different tension springs for them to engage at different RPM, depending upon the manufacturer. If the engine pulley is a larger size then the driven pulley on the jackshaft you might have to figure out the shaft rpm and change springs. Basically, if the jackshaft is spinning much faster than the engine shaft, it may not go slow enough to disengage the clutch. Just something to consider if you haven't already

how are your front spindles secured to the axle?

The spindels are from a 220 Case. Except for being 3/4" they were ready made for the inverted 520 swept axle and Ross steering components from a Cub. As of now only a collar is preventing the weight of the tractor from falling off of the spindle. Later I will drill straight thru and pin it.

As of now the centrifugrical clutch and the other 3 pulleys will all be the same size of 3". Driveability is the goal and better sizes can determined later and I hope that won't be necessary.

With the start of a bed my project has become a bucket T. It still could be a sand rail but I'm not building it for speed. It's almost ready! The front axle saddle must be welded, two belts bought, a gas pedal and all the other adjustments of a custom build. After its maiden cruise I'll call it finished and that might be it for me.

Looks Funny

Each time I post it on other sites the attention it receives is overwhelming and positve. But it is the silent majority who may agree with Tractorhead in that it really does look funny. Who knows what the consenses is? I only built it to please one person, me. To each his own opinion, different strokes for different folks. It's my thing and I do what I wanna do.

Remember,  you can't spell FUNNY without the FUN!

Yes, it looks funny, but so did Big Daddy Ed Roth's creations, and they were FUN TOO!  and COOL!

I second the vote:  VIDEO NEEDED!  I REALLY wanna see that thing fired up and movin' 'round!

Maybe the word Funny didn‘t describe exactly what i meant, dang differences in Language.

Funny also exists here as an expression, here it means a little funny, a little interesting, a little Cooooool

and a little Dangerous.

So let me say it in other Words..

was it prohibited?

was it dangerous?

was it risky?

Yes - Ok, i‘m in...

Ah, if nobody mentioned allready - we need a Vid 😎👍

How about adding a chrome stack on the carb?  Something similar to the stacks on Stromberg 97's back around 1960.

Ok I'll be nice. Instead of a belt guard I made a fence around the complete engine.

I need to control the turning radius from the wheels getting locked up. Maybe two stops on the drag link?

Excellent idea.

Just be sure to make them a little tougher than you think you need.

There will be some decent quality dynamic forces there when at motion.

Very NICE, what would  finish it off, I think, would be a nice shiny cylindrical fuel tank, just behind the front axle, (dragster style), to add some “Bling”, and contrast to the red paint. 👍

Yowza :laughing-rofl: Back in 2016 I built my first custom with the help of this community. Nearing completion I must report how popular my third is because I couldn't believe it. Posted several times on other sites the total number likes exceeds 1/2 MILLION. The most popular site was almost a 1/4 million at Wheel Horse Fanatics :text-woo:
