giddyap 1,569 #1 Posted February 20, 2021 With an epic fail a few years ago, I'm ready to give this concept another try. This build promises to give me a ride on the wild side just like my wheel standing WH. This one will be half Wheel Horse, with components from Cub (Ross) steering, Case spindles and half go kart. This is not going to be a tractor in any sense of the word. Once I discovered wheel barrow go karts It didn't take me very long to find a wheelbarrow and it was game on. With plently of parts on hand, all I needed was a noble reason to get Donna behind this project. And that is.....I will build a roller for the grand kids to drive as I pull them. When the time is right I will add the engine. My first photo is just a teaser, a full mock up photo is forthcoming. It's my thing 9

giddyap 1,569 #3 Posted February 20, 2021 As cheap as snowplows are these days, I figured my extra one would be an economical base to build upon. The gold is just some cheap paint to highlight the dry cement and dents. 6 6 1

I like it a lot but sad to see those awesome OTRs on the rears used just for rollers, (its your project and who am I to tell you what to do with them), maybe later a set of 24x12-12 turfs for some smooth riding steam rollers? Again like it a lot.

No one knows other than I that my personal experience is with WH. I grew up on them and when I left the nest WH was my first and only tractor for the next 50 years. In retirement I explored other brands and found some of their components are better than what I can make. So other than pushing the limits, my "Frankenstein" is no different than others and is a "Works in progress-mild to wild". In which I added, to the extreme.

giddyap 1,569 #19 Posted February 22, 2021 Today's progress was cutting a hole in the bucket thus committing the location of the sleering box location. Upon review I am going to move everything back 6" because I may have to open the "dash" to extend my legs. The go kart seat I am considering may also need extra space and I think opening the back will also be required, but with careful consideration to retaining cosmectic apperance. The addition of a short truck bed will help with the seat location and will hold the battery and gas tank. The drive belt is my biggest concern clearing the tub to a pulley on the solid axle. Engine in the front, no transmission, centrifugal clutch and one forward speed. I also have to shorten the steering column 3

Maybe cut down the size of the axle pulley by using a jack shaft with pulleys between the engine and axle? Or a right angle gear box and or use of a torque converter instead of a centrifugal clutch? 5
953 nut 55,229 #21 Posted February 22, 2021 Not too long ago @dells68 was building a wheelbarrowwheelhorse custom and @prondzy built the "Tub Rat" so rest assured you aren't breaking any laws around here. Also, John @wallfish made a motorcycle out of a snowplow frame.

I now see I would rather keep my feet inside and stretch the bucket But that can change. I got my second covid-19 shot today 5 3

8ntruck 7,004 #24 Posted February 23, 2021 I agree with keeping th our feet inside the tub. Go ahead and stretch it. Maybe find a donor tub to help you along.
Pullstart 62,882 #25 Posted February 23, 2021 @giddyap I don’t recall, do you weld? I’m sure the stretching of a tub has very similar shapes with the lip, but there will likely be a lot of pie cuts and shaping to go along...
