Doesnt common sense tell you not to put your hand into the spinny thing being run by the noisy gas engine that you just pull started?

I thought that we were under a Nationwide shortage of common sense? Or was that common cents?

I’ve got my Dad’s 20+ year old toro paddle wheel single stage 2 stroke... always starts, loud, smokes, rattles like hell, paddles never stop... Use it for big storm touch up or just to annoy the neighbors... Ain’t lost any fingers or toes yet...

I call it the “Al Gore Ralph Nader Snowerator” :banana-rock:

LOVE IT!!!

Am I in danger...? :confusion-confused:

Only if Al Gore or Ralph Nader come be and sticks their hand in it with it running.

I have a piece of 9 wire wrapped around the auger drive on my machine.  I only release it when starting it.

I still have all my appendages.

My neighbor noticed it and was horrified.

I've done the same but with a heavy duty  ziptie.

Kept it a little loose. Clamp the lever and move the tie onto it.

Exactly how I use the wire.  In fact, if I push down the handle, the wire slides forward by itself so 'emergency' releases are quick and easy.  The only emergency I've had is when I hit a neighbor's landscaping rock and the augers stopped by themselves when the shear pin did it's job.
