WVHillbilly520H 10,373 #2 Posted February 18, 2021 (edited) Sleeting like crazy here, IDK whether to plow/blow now or wait, tried heading to work this morning and 3-4 semi crashes closed the interstates down so I turned around and came back home. 20210218_090234.mp4 Edited February 18, 2021 by WVHillbilly520H 5
Jeff-C175 7,202 #3 Posted February 18, 2021 Started snowing here about 6AM and already nearly 4" down. Reports are that it will turn to sleet/rain later today. Going to wait for a while and see what happens. I'll fire up the machines when it gets to around 6" and make a 'first pass' I guess.

Ed Kennell 38,227 #7 Posted February 18, 2021 About 4-5 " down here, but it has stopped for the moment. No school or work so the driveways are full of vehicles. Think I'll wait awhile to let the neighbors clear off their cars before I start to plow their drives

Storms staying a couple hundred miles south of the far Northeast has happened several times this year. I'm perfectly fine with not having to deal with the snow but it can certainly have an effect on the environment and the water table.
Ed Kennell 38,227 #9 Posted February 18, 2021 Oops, it did stop snowing, but I just went out to walk the neighbors dog and got hit in the face with NE freezing rain/sleet. 26F It'll be nice in that warm dry cab.

Carb on the 175 icing up REAL BAD this time. Humidity is over 80% and temp hovering just below freezing. Couldn't plow for more than ten minutes at a time. Going out now to see if I can rig something up. Got most of the driveway cleared before the trouble started. Turned around and looked back and 2 more inches on top. It's turned to rain now though... they say back to snow later. 3

Ed Kennell 38,227 #14 Posted February 18, 2021 Just finished 3 hours of good seat time. The snow stopped around noon but it continued to drop sleet and freezing rain. I started plowing at 2PM using the 312H to clear the basement entrance then quickly got in the 520H and cleared 4 driveways and the stone road. I hated to get out of the warm cab , but I did to get a couple pics. 1
