Vinny 0 #1 Posted February 16, 2021 So recently I’ve been having a problem with my 80s model 312-8 story on it is that I got it from my uncle who passed away and it wasn’t running I got it running but not driving because it had the automatic transmission that no longer worked so a buddy and I swapped it out for a 312-8 transmission now he ended up putting a broken dog screw in for the donut and it snapped and the donut fell into the transmission I tore everything apart got the transmission off took all the bults out but I can’t seem to get the trans to break apart can someone help me I need the tractor for thus summer for clean up jobs
oliver2-44 9,851 #2 Posted February 16, 2021 Do you have the hitch pin out at the rear of the transmission? I take a thin putty knife or a wood chisel and start at a corner an tap it in and work my way around to break the gasket loose.

horseyheaven 112 #9 Posted February 16, 2021 I always do them right side down. If you leave right rear tire on, it makes a nice stand.
