@Too much redFrom what I’m seeing yes that looks correct. But as I stated above call Lowell first, I think you will be surprised at what might, could happen.

That's what I was thinking...mount it with the notches toward the bottom, maybe have to make sure latch brackets are correct, and looks like it may be correct...but it's hard for me to grasp without my hands on it...

@Horse Newbie if you look real close at the first pic haydendavid sent zoom in you will see the cross member is on the face of the bracket. Too Much Red’s bracket has the cross member on top.

@Horse Newbie. When I seen that Drew the pic. You chimed in about Lowell and I just reiterated that he needed to call first. No apologies needed were all here to help all.

Too much red

One more question (I hope), does anyone have a part number or part name to search for the lift t bar that Pete linked to? My 854 does not have that.

You do not need that. Attach a chain or solid link from the tractor lift rock shaft to the slotted  hole on the plow. Your tractor does not have the holes to attach the lift bar.

You don't have the T shaped lift arm but you do have the rock shaft. Use the longer lift link, p/n 7706, and connect it in the rear hole. You can mont it forward if you want more lift. I had my blade on the 854 for the summer. I used the rear hole on the rock shaft and the round hole on the blade. :)

Too much red

I just want to say thanks to everyone here for their help. It took less than 2 hours for you guys to set me in the right direction. Then I was contacted by another red square member ( big thanks to him) who was local to me and he helped me get set up with the part I needed. Just now finished up mounting the plow in preparation for the incoming snow tomorrow. Thanks everyone!

I'm just writing this little section here to help the next guy down the road who finds himself scratching his head. If you have a short frame wheel horse and you're trying to mount a snow plow that fits both short frame and long frame wheel horses then you need mounting bracket part number 104659. I believe these model snow plows all use mounting bracket #104659.

1968 model 6-4111 - First to fit LONG & SHORT frame tractors and first to mount under the rear axle - replaced by

1969 model [6-4112 + 6-9621]

1970-73 model [6-4113 + 6-9622]

1973-74 model [6-4113 + 6-9623]

1974 model [6-4114 + 6-9624]

1974 model 6-2131

1975 model 6-2132

1976 model 6-2133

1976 model 66-42BC01

1977 model 76-42BC01

1978 model 86-42BC01

1979 model 96-42BC01

1980 model 06-42BC01

1981-1984 model 06-42BC02 (Up to here they are 42" wide)

I'd like to see a pic from the rear of that bracket at the rear axle...if you get a chance.

Haydendavid posted a picture of the rear bracket on his a few posts up. If you need another one, I'll try and get one tomorrow if I have time.

The new part from Lowell has to be mounted UNDER the transaxle, not behind it. Th silver handles should point to the rear (not up or down) before they are latched and downward after they are latched.

That type plow mount should mount on the front side of the axle and the locking bracket should be on the out side of the angle.
