I was even thinking at one point of running a rear scrapper with the snow blower on the front, that way I dont think or id hope I wouldnt have to switch between the 2 attachments all season compared to having to run a plow up front early in season and then blower at end of season. I ran a blower and rear scraper blade for part of a season and was happy with the arrangement. But I'm much happier with the front blade for the last pass clean up. Something like this? It works well, but I need to make an independent lift for the blade. Only down side is that it's long, when you go to turn you have to be really careful. I only put tbe scraper blade on when I get the heavy wet snow the blower can't handle. A second tractor with a front blade would be preferred, but I'm limited on storage space. I am sure the arm could be shortened a bit? Also I was thinking the plow would be 180 degrees from whats in your pic. Figure out how to lower them separately might be an excellent question we could put to the brilliant wheel hose boy's in here. Yes turning would be a problem as you say also, but the same can be said when the blower is down and I try to turn, I do more sliding straight untill I raise the blower hahahahah. I definately like what you have there though, what I like about the scraping behind the blower is it also scoops so close to the ashfault that as soon as the sun comes out it melts and dries so fast. But more so if there is alot of slush which does happen it seems more so these days it so nice to get the slush off the flat surfaces before night time tempurature freezes everything making a real hell hole mess never mind a people hazard too. Thanks for posting the pic R Schreer, thats exactly the Tractor I picked up last summer for 20 bucks believe it or not heheheh, Listen is that a 2 stage blower on yours? I was out yesterday blowing snow with my single stage and kind of blew it up, I spent the last part of yesterday looking for a 2 stage with no luck, but I did find a walk behind Boleens for 50 bucks, am leaving in a few minutes to pick it up from somewhere north of Kingston On, I figure Ill adapt it to the 310-8 since my Charger 10 is still being rebuilt. I sure wish I could find a 2 stage that would fit the 310-8, but in Canada we have very little in the way of Wheel Horse, either that or they keep them well hidden hehehehe. R Scheer 502 #82 Posted February 17, 2021 @MikMacMike It's a 2 stage blower. The arm for the plow is long so that you can spin the blade 180 degrees. This way you can pull or push the snow depending on the need. I'm working the M12 pretty hard turning the 2 stage, it does the job but I'd hesitate on running it on a smaller engine. Hmmmm, I see what yr saying, I just got back from picking the bolens blower up, it was running a 8hp tecumce plus it has the drive wheels too, but Im removing all the googly gwap off and just using the auger itself running off the 10 horse Kolher, its 26" wide so Ill be putting solid wings on it so as to clear snow path just wider then the widest width of the 310-8 with the big boots. Now I know I am going to have to play with pully sizing so it is working in its intended rpm for the auger, I usually run my Kohler just below 3600 rpm anyways, going by sound I think it would equate to about 2900 to 3000 rpm. 3000 rpm seems to have the most torque for that 10 HP. I do wish I had the wheel horse 2 stage like you have but I guess I just gave up looking, they seem to be quite rare up here in the Canadian no mans land heheheh. Ya 44" wide turning that size auger I could just imagine under load the torque youd need. I never heard of this Berco type though I am going to research it as soon as I send this message to you. You know what else Im wondering too, is both my Kohlers have the mechanical friction clutch, but I did notice they were just slightly different pully sizing between them, in fact I think my charger ten running the 14 hp has an extra groove cut too, Im wondering if you got your self a bit smaller of a pully it might be easier on your engine, but also wondering if the change in rpms because of pullies might not allow it to throw snow as far as you might want......but it might be something to look into???
