Paint codes

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon everyone! I have a 1983 Workhorse GT1100 that was my father’s. He gave it to a neighbor when he moved out of state and the neighbor decided to restore it... needless to say it was a total hack job! Well I bought it back from the “restorer” after he painted the entire thing red.... does anyone know #1 where I can find the color code for the gray? And #2 does anyone know where I can buy it? And lastly, does anyone know where I can get a new hood for it? Thanks for any help in advance... joe

@Emt260 There are opinions here, but @c-series don is the one hopefully will chime in here. He has a GT and was restored amazingly.

Paint used was two Ford colors

Pewter metallic part number 8-0335 for 1982 models - Automotive equivalent 1971 Lincoln-Mercury Pewter Metallic

Pewter gray part number 8-0337 for 1983-84 models (Not metallic) - Automotive equivalent 1982 Lincoln Light Pewter

Will let others suggest a hood source.

Garry is totally correct on this. I used the pewter gray non metallic 1982 Lincoln light pewter which is correct for my 1984 GT-1800 that I bought new in august of 84. I restored it about 3 years ago after countless hours of work with that tractor. It is this tractor that got me hooked on Wheel Horse tractors. They are not red but they are Wheel Horse through and through.

Thank all of you! I plan on taking all the metal off and have it repainted. I will post pictures of what it looks like. @c-series don yours came out amazing! I have a love for this tractor, and if I had the space I would own a dozen more!

I’ve had that poster since I was about 14. It used to hang in my bedroom when I was a kid. I stored it away for many years and finally when I built my garage she was the FIRST thing to get hung up. My wife said oh no you are not hanging that up in here. I said you don’t understand, I had a relationship with her as a teenager. She never said no and never talked back. She’s still hanging there 24 years later and hasn’t aged a bit. Still don’t even know her name 😂👍🏻
