Mickwhitt 4,580 #1 Posted February 11, 2021 I've the word of the day thread and after seeing this report on our national news feed I thought "Idiot of the week" might make an entertaining subject. This guy was stopped by police while driving his car. Obviously overnight snow had covered the vehicle but to say he had engaged in the minimum amount of snow clearing of the windscreen is putting it mildly. He was charged with dangerous driving, which has to be a standard far below that of a careful and competent driver. I would say that case is made out here. Can you come up with a better Idiot of the week? Mick 1 9

little red riding horse 223 #6 Posted February 11, 2021 Drive past a loch to and from work (very quite country rd ) driving home see a guy had parked up, no one else with him and was stood in the middle (loch frozen over ) chatting on his phone... if he had gone through it would of been good night Vienna , could of been hrs before another vehicle came along... there are no words Going back to your picture of the car, i see drivers almost everyday driving along with a 6" square in the windscreen to try and look through the frost , crazy and lazy.... fair play to the coppers for doing him
Stormin 9,981 #7 Posted February 11, 2021 Not just windscreens that don't get cleared. How often due you see the side windows and door mirrors frozen as well? It's amazing how many Richard (Dick to his friends) Head's are about.

Jeff-C175 7,199 #19 Posted February 11, 2021 I actually saw a Karen in a Volvo driving with a porthole the other day. Funniest part is that four cars behind her was a patrol cop ... oblivious to the fact.

Mickwhitt 4,580 #25 Posted February 11, 2021 I was once on pedal cycle patrol in sheffield, full police mountain bike uniform, the works. Came across a Karen sitting in a queue of traffic chatting away on her mobile. (Points on your licence and a fine). I tapped on the window, which came down a couple of inches and was rewarded with "can't you see I'm on the phone?" I pulled my bike in front of her, stopping all the traffic while the conversation continued: "Can't you see I'm a policeman?" It was the nicest ticket I've written in a long time and six points really made her smart. 1 2
