My 79 Ford F-250 is still my favorite truck.  If I can find a pic I will post it.

Got a few of this vintage, One I bought new in  December 1977 and still own1690166373_1983.TruckandTractor(3).jpeg.8ce290611a4e398b6840da0fd9f8c703.jpegit .I think highly of the dent sides. That's a 300 6 towing at least 7500 lbs. Not  me or mine below but typical of the time.

Father in law had a black 79 ford heavy half. Comfortable truck, big motor, drank gas. Twin I beam suspension? Hard on tires.  It was a 6-8 mpg truck. Very nice though.

That era was right after I stopped working in the garage. Ford was choking them down with smog stuff. I think it was 78 when you could still get a smog free half ton. The 250 in 79 might have come that way too.

You could make them much better if you let them breath. Sometimes I think the manufactures just put car stuff on trucks to satisfy the regulations.

Nice choice in tires, Interco & ford just seem to go together.

I’m not a Ford guy.  Never claimed to be.  Honestly, I’m not sure why I flocked to the BowTie, my grandfather always had an F-150 and he was the closest to a father figure that I had growing up.

That’s still an awesome rig, no matter what manufacturer or power plant!

I've had both and I like both over different years for different reasons.

Each has their ups and downs.

The only reason I lean a little towards the Ford side is because the shape of the cab with a bench seat fits my Fred Flintstone syndrome body just a little bit better.

So you can fully absorb that last sentence picture this...

Trina is 66" tall and I'm 73 or 74" depending on time of day and other factors.

We have the SAME LENGTH LEGS but I'm NEARLY EIGHT INCHES TALLER.

Fred Flintstone Syndrome.

I sold it last year.  Ran an add on CL with a decent price tag, it sold so quick I barley had time to say goodbye.  :confusion-shrug:

I’m still waiting for a guy I see about every morning to sell his 78-9 F150 step side. He bought it brand new and has over 200K on it. I pester him from time to time about it and I gave him my number.
