automatic won't reverse

Hey all again, it's been a while i was, saving up funds to get the beast running (1973 12 automatic). Ok it's running now YAY!, and the transmission works for going forward, but won't got into reverse. I've looked at the shifting part, and the plastic thing that shift's it looks fine. When i first took the cover off, the shift nob was out of the plastic thing, i managed to pop it back in, but it won't go in reverse. Any ideas? Could it be not enough trans fluid? Or is there something else i'm missing? Any suggestions?

Hey, I figured it out myself it's the slider plate, it's worn out where the nob fits in.

Yeah, well i just took it apart and saw that the slider thing, or cam was worn out were the nob fits in. So i just used my hand to move it and it worked flawlessly. Yeah. Now i know for future reference too, in case someone else has that problem.
