2" receiver implements and attachments

I have an old wood chipper that runs but needs sharpened blades so will tune that up and set it on a 2” sq tube so I can take it to where the chipping needs to happen.

Would think an 8hp walk behind leaf blower would be a good match for this hitch also- blow leaves from the comfort of your tractor seat!  Might be better up front but I worry about the weight.

I'd like to see the pics of that process.

It’s a little push around job. Should be easy!  (Yeah right)

I have one of them. It's not exactly what I would normally call easy.

Mounting to a tractor though.......

Here is a fairly simple snow plow.

If you are into water fowl hunting this is a very handy tool for your receiver hitch.

Quite a few crane hoist ideas online. I liked this shackle and a flag pole holder.

That's one I wish I'd had a time or two but you can run the tow rope around the hitch as well.

Shackle does make it nice and easy.

I use a 2" receiver to mount my vacuum on my C-120 also the winch on my 312-8.

I thought I had seen just about every rear hitch there could be and decided that nothing could be better than what I've seen and then this comes along.

LOTs going on here!  Heavy Duty Xs 2!  Which came first?  And I take it that they are NOT welded to each other.

.

First arrow every thing is raised 1 3/4" because of the 25" tires. Second chain bracket for the rear hitch as the winch attachment is on the implement. Third and forth the lower hitch is removable it clips over the other hitch.

Pretty neat!  Guess my final design in my head isn't done yet!

Thanks!

That won't work on a stock tractor, it needs the extra 1 3/4" of room. Here is a very similar hitch on my 520-H and the receiver hitch is cut in under the bracket as there isn't enough room on top.

I intended to put it on top it wouldn't go.

The 312-8 hitch is braced on top of the transmission. I haven't finished the lower braces on the 520-H as my welder quit.

Understood, but I still like the idea of being able to have both an implement, vise, winch, something, and still be able to tow.  There's a way.

I made a few modifications to the hitch on my C-120/180.

Everything got modified to make this work. The braces on the receiver hitch moved out, the WH tow hitch still works. The tubes cut off the lift hitch and the lift bracket moved to the out side with a spacer.

The rocker bracket also got modified.

That's a very nice piece of (re)engineering Lee..pity about the colour! :)

2" receivers are not common in the UK (as far as I am aware) but I'm considering one for a fertiliser spreader. Very helpful to see your system. Is the 2" the internal dimensions of the socket/outside dimensions of the implement? I guess the socket has to be slightly bigger than the implement or it wouldn't fit!

I built this receiver to fit where my mule goes, then built the battery box and attached the winch. Probably not strong enough to push the limits of the winch, but good enough for everything I've used it for so far.

2" is the most common here in the states and that is the OD of the hitch. The receiver is typically 1/8" larger but can vary some (about 53-54mm). Too loose and it will knock a bit while towing but you'll want it loos enough to easily insert the pin.

There is also a smaller one that uses a 1 1/4" solid bar used on cars and small suv's.  It's more expensive as it is not as commen at the the 2" receiver. There is one on the back of my Ford Explorer it's raited at 3500 Lbs.

It would be more then enought for a Wheel Horse but most of us have hitches to fit the 2".

Appreciated, thank you!

My Range Rover has a removable tow bar but it is a bespoke bayonet..I wonder why they didn't use the existing receiver system? My guess would be the 'loose fit' and 'rattling' issues.. (surely not acceptable on a Range Rover 🤣).

The system looks ideal for the WH application though, and better than the slot or sleeve hitches as it is fixed height (no lift needed). I note receivers are available online, so I will probably invest.
