Ed729 57 #1 Posted February 4, 2021 My Kohler 12hp magnum has the solid state ignition on it. It has works fine but the spark plug wire is in bad shape right at the coil. It looks like it’s all one piece but I would really like to replace the wire itself. Has anybody had any luck or do I have to replace the coil? The only thing I can think of is trying to cut the insulation and sleeve off to get a better soldered connection, then use liquid tape to cover it. Here’s a picture of the temporary repair that has lasted several years.
WHX?? 48,834 #2 Posted February 4, 2021 Ed. That's probably what I would attempt to do. See if you can get back to good wire and solder new on. Epoxy/shrink wrap it back up. Your really not out much for trying. Course they don't want a whole heck of alot for a new one.....
