Hydro lift valve

New to the wheelhorse world but have a ?  What keeps the lever on the lift valve from lowering when you hit a bump while driving. Seems like there should be some resistance on lever. I am missing the spool cap and spacer would that have any affect on the lever resistance?

Yes, there's a spring in the cap.

This service manual shows a breakdown of the valves.  if your missing the spacer the spring may not have enough tension on it.
