Counterweights for the 520H snowblower

Recommended Posts

Chestnut

Back in early December we got some heavy wet snow and I dug up my MIL's lawn and the little ramp to the garden shed with the 520H. I'm still looking for wheel weights and haven't filled the tires, but I did get a start on hanging weight off the rear axle. One more short time out and the PO's weight system failed. Concrete poured into a steel can and bolted to the trailer tongue is now flopping around. The can, even with some reinforcement he added to the base, isn't rigid enough. I haven't taken it off yet, but I will. I need to connect my two new brackets and run a support down to the trailer tongue. There are more weight plates I can add.IMG_20210101_162045033.jpg.edd6be132642ed7ff50daea3a1a888d8.jpgIMG_20210123_162048556.jpg.91496f268f18b10408288892f68cd2b9.jpg

I think I only have about 40 pounds a side, which will only replace the concrete block I'll be taking off. I have about 300 pounds of those old iron weight plates in the box on my other tractor. I'll probably start with about 100 pounds each side and if I need more I'll just add it.

Doctor told me subtract.

I thought about using the long bar crossways but I can't dead lift so much any more. Easier to stack 25 pounds at a time (or less)
