roadapples 6,983 #1 Posted February 2, 2021 How important is the fan on an Eaton 1100 this time of year? Tire chain caught mine...
JAinVA 4,619 #2 Posted February 2, 2021 (edited) I have a couple that were covered so completely with oil, dirt and leaf debris that i can't imagine that much air ever got to the cooling fins. I would think that with cold air temps you should be okay but that's just my opinion. Edited February 2, 2021 by JAinVA
953 nut 55,329 #3 Posted February 3, 2021 Shouldn't be a big deal so long as you aren't working it too hard. Mike @squonk has an inexpensive part number I think.

WHX?? 48,834 #5 Posted February 3, 2021 I'm with JA, I checked mine after an hour of snow work and was warm but not even close to being hot. You can easily hold on to the filter. 90 deg in the shade mowing might be a different story. I got a couple you need one 'Apples. 1

pacer 3,174 #13 Posted February 3, 2021 (edited) Squonk's crack about walmart fan is possible-- I had a .... C175 (i think!) anyhow, the fan was bad and I remembered I had an old 12v dash fan from an old truck. Dug it out and though, Hmmmm that just might work. Sure enough, I bored the center out to the shaft diameter and ,,, it was a beautiful thing!! Edited February 3, 2021 by pacer
lynnmor 7,315 #14 Posted February 3, 2021 I had a fan just slipping while mowing in the hot summer, it really did overheat. I would keep it operating all the time. When installing, you can't make it real tight because it is plastic, so use thread locker on the bolt.
