Handy Don 12,163 #2 Posted February 1, 2021 (edited) Onans have a 20 amp alternator (20amps @12v = 240w). Remember some is going to battery charging and to keep the plugs sparking and maybe lights?! Edited February 1, 2021 by Handy Don
Maxwell-8 4,275 #3 Posted February 1, 2021 (edited) pff, that whould be the max i would wanne ask from it, headlights 60-70w, ignition system some, want to charge the battery, etc and that 20 amps is in high rpm. I reccomand installing a car or atv alternator When you install an extra alternator: welcome heated seat Edited February 1, 2021 by Maxwell-
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #4 Posted February 1, 2021 Kohler mostly likely has the 15 amp charging system so max = 180W. (Volts x amps) That is not leaving enough for lights, ignition and battery charging. Garry
roadapples 6,983 #5 Posted February 1, 2021 Turn on defroster only when needed for a few minutes. Then turn off. 3

horseyheaven 112 #7 Posted February 2, 2021 I use two battery operated fans in the cab of my 520HC. They work well for keeping my breath from fogging the windows up. The ones I bought are able to clamp anywhere you want and can be swiveled\angled to hit in different areas. I went this route because I did not think I would have enough charging system for a defroster. I just searched battery operated fans on the internet.
