oldlineman 1,481 #1 Posted February 1, 2021 (edited) Just got in from removing 6 plus in. snow from driveway and was thinking what other things I have that have lasted this long. Mine is a 1979 WH C-101 with front plow bought new the year my daughter was born , estimated hours on this machine are at least 2000 and all original. In 42 years only replaced drive belt, regulator, points condenser once and of course spark plug and plenty of oil and grease. I once replaced the bushing in the carb, throttle shaft too. I believe regular maintenance, is the biggest factor. Just remembered one other thing that has lasted, wife of 46 years, a lot more maintenance tied up in her but worth it. Picture is me and my daughter several years ago both still going. Edited February 1, 2021 by oldlineman 5 7 1
Maxwell-8 4,277 #2 Posted February 1, 2021 Great job mainting them! Haven't you had to change your axle seals?
oldlineman 1,481 #3 Posted February 1, 2021 No seals at all, put newer hubs with two set screws awhile back, was having trouble keeping the original one set screw ones tight. It has been a very trouble free investment much like the 46 year one I made.
