Nothing else. If my El sits for a few days , it takes for ever to get it to start. Computer carbs don't care about a thing until the engine is warmed up and goes into closed loop. It act's like a regular carb. Sounds like you got a leaker.

Even using RockAuto you can buy O.E. Motorcraft replacements... Just trying to help you out, if you can master 1 cylinder the other 7 ain't that bad. Much appreciated Jeff. I've done work on V8s many moons ago. Can the emissions stuff be eliminated using the stock carb?

Can the emissions stuff be eliminated using the stock carb? You want 3 responses? Sorry had to, yes a lot of it can be bypassed, I take it this is no longer "road worthy" and unlicensed/state inspected? Usually a vacuum line to the distributor for advance unless its fully electronic, there may be 1 going to the heat riser on the manifold to the air cleaner, if there is a A.I.R. pump to the manifolds that can go to the scrap yard and plug the holes/crimp the hard lines, ect... Another thought on hard starts rough running the E.G.R. valve may be stuck open from carbon, it could be elimanted as well with a block of plate. It would best to find a Haynes manual for that truck with all the schematics that will help immensely.

Surprisingly solid body but he uses it exclusively for plowing and sanding. I do actually have one of those Haynes around somewhere. Thanks!
Pullstart 63,648 #32 Posted February 3, 2021 EB if not too late, I’ve purchased one of the Summit Racing brand carbs before. It ran super smooth, right out of the box. I believe it’s a 600 or 650 cfm, and I also believe it’s on the ‘69 C10 with the 350 and a mild cam. I would highly recommend using one, even though they look VERY much like a Holley casting.
