If could find a suitable thin metal solution that didnt have the hose clamp type screw id try those. Heres a different style with the hand painted ties.

This may serve as an option.

Also thinking, maybe 3d print custom ties? I eventually want to find a nice silver filament for stuff anyway something that gives kinda a pewter finish, be nice to print the ties out of the exact same material!

accurately measure

The height of the 'dome' on the center piece is only about 0.10" near as I can measure, so a quarter inch 'rise' would be more than adequate.

0.15 height(leaves .05 for the silicone) overall .23 thick, add 2mm of logo and youre right at 0.3 total thickness in the center.

Take  your time!  I'm not working in the shop until the weather warms enough to repaint the hood at which time I'm mounting the hood ornament as well...  NO RUSH!

I also haven't given up on the possibility of 3d printing the lenses, gonna take some more testing and trials on my end to get it figured out just so! I'm gonna try some different materials etc. and see what gives me good results. I wasn't satisfied with the clarity vs rigidity of my last material.

Got the first inner frame done last night, but i want it a bit thicker(came out at 1.3mm rather than 2, mustve not double checked that dimension in modeling) tested with a previous test piece that was a frame without the inset for the plexi and i think the dual layer felt good!

Tonight ill be spitting out two slightly thicker inner frames and have em in the post tomorrow!

Build myself a Badge for the selfmade Wheelhorse Trailer.

It’s Radpid Prototyping on my side, so pretty rough printed in highspeed with PLA, 0,35mm layers but it turn‘s out nice.

Even if no prefect finish, but that was also not the Plan.

I Don‘t wan‘t also crossfire or interrupt @Wheel Horse 3D ‚s Business in either Way.

not my intension and not my plan.

i think to release this if it‘s be in interest as open Source so that @Wheel Horse 3D can print it on your site.

If you have a printer, I don't see why you wouldn't use it! LOL 3d printing is a wonderful tool! If anyone ever needs anything printed or help designing I'm all for it and an more than willing to help!

3D printing is kinda the epitome of open source, the idea is to bring designs and idea to life and bring manufacturing into the realm of the common person.

Here the idea is to get affordable parts to the horses that need them!

Here no matter what I personally design it all based on the Horse anyway! The ideas come from y'all and while i do try to provide options that I think may have merit, 3d printing is a service, I'm here to bring YOUR ideas to life. I don't charge for design time on anything that will be helpful to more than one individual, and all the input ya'll contribute is priceless for creating something other Horse owners want or need.

What i meant it, it‘s cheaper if you do the printservice over the Big Pond, instead the shipping cost from here.

More on the 3d print side of things, im still chasing the transparent print! Last night while other stuff was running on #1, I was tinkering with clear petg on #2. I did get clearER, but even with a layer height of .04 and flow rate at 150, the layers just didnt get enough ooze to squish down into each layer. Next im gonna go with really thin layers rather than thick ones, .05 and see if i can get the flow rate right to squish down in then. Maybe the nozzle being closer will provide less escape room for the liquid plastic? Has nowere to go but down?

Im liking it! Rear frame is just Slightly shorter than the front frame so the edges line up with a slight bend:)
