Buggers underestimated us a bit. We were looking for a out 10". Still snowing here. Maybe 12 or 13" out there now. Some areas out behind in the low part of the yard were over 24". Not done yet. We'll finish up and do a nicer scrape tomorrow evening.
WHX?? 48,834 #54 Posted February 3, 2021 I would be in my glory stuffing the deuce into a 12 inch pile like that. None of this 3-4 inch stuff we been getting. Get that Onan on up on the pipe and make her go... nothing sweeter.
ebinmaine 67,695 #55 Posted February 3, 2021 Here's a video of me on Cinnamon Horse C160. This is most snow I've ever tried to move. Solid foot. And here's Trina runnin' the snowblower out by the road taking down the windrow.

squonk 41,164 #57 Posted February 3, 2021 Gotta love the weather service. "Big snow coming tonight" So I go out and move the tractors around to get the blower tractor in front of the line. Wake up and we have an inch. "Snow will intensify during the afternoon." Just a couple of inches more "Storm models way off Snow will end" Go out and plow what we got and leave plow tractor in front. Now it's evening and it's snowing like crazy. About 5" so far in 2 1/2 hrs.

Seat time I mea HaHaHaHa, just what I need first thing with my coffee in the morning,a good laugh. Been using the bigger loader tractor last year and this year for the major cleanup and then a WheelHorse to finish it up. The other half is off today, will see if she can take a few pics of the 417 with blade cleaning whats left. Looks like Eric and Trina had their hands full with that storm. We didn't get as much but still a good storm for seat time.

If it makes you feel any better, the door out of the house is 8" above the sidewalk, it made a trail through the snow, so we must have gotten at least 8" of new snow overnight here. once it gets to be daylight, I'll see if I can shovel my way to the horse barn. Plenty of seat time today

76-C120 20 #64 Posted February 3, 2021 All set and ready. Bought my first house in Aug and my parents were holding onto this for me for many years. It's a 1976 C120 they bought new. Since I bought the house, I've been using it for what it was designed for.... work. Everything works good, just some tlc to get it working perfectly. It made short work of the driveway, handled multiple trips out with 7+ inches of snow down. Kinda cool to be able to throw the snow clear across the street. 3
WHX?? 48,834 #65 Posted February 3, 2021 (edited) @76-C120 Many resources here to keep it running good & congrats on first time home owner! The short chutes don't handle the slushy stuff real well and the cable turn can be a pain at times. Keep well lubricated and repair right away when needed. I blew with a short chute for a few years 'till the chute ripped right off then moved up to a tall. Edited February 3, 2021 by WHX24 pic 1
squonk 41,164 #66 Posted February 3, 2021 Made the first EVA of the day. The snow is fine and granular. Windy as heck right now. Snowblowing will be a challenge when going North. Perfect weather to grab a 68 Biscayne wagon with Firestone T & C's all the way around a few guys and a case of beer. Drift hopping in the Town of Galen! 1
rjg854 11,389 #67 Posted February 3, 2021 Oh what fun 15" of snow last night they were calling for three to five they were a little off on that It was great snow for snow blowing though. Got to love a tall shoot blower.

It is OK to place you gloves on the hood, but don't use it for a workbench as others might. Edited February 3, 2021 by lynnmor

JCM 9,202 #72 Posted February 3, 2021 Yesterday after the yard was all cleaned up and tractors put away 2 hours later it decided to snow 2 more inches so this morning brought out the 417-8 and cleaned it up. Enjoying the electric lift, so much easier than the manual lift. Even had my better half out giving her a lesson on plowing. By the look on her face when I was explaining the clutch, brake and gear shift I knew then I spoiled her with the 418-A when she was helping with the dump cart hauling leaves this past Fall. 1

squonk 41,164 #74 Posted February 3, 2021 (edited) Well it took about 4 hours. Took a couple of breaks. I have 0 places to put snow so today was going to be a day that Elvis had to come out. Found out one of my magnetic block heaters I use to keep his hydraulic fluid warm had a melt down. Frickin thing was still hot!!! Same 14"ish that Randy got. Tractors were not lined up with the blower in front so I had to punch a hole with the 953. Then the village plow came by so I had to stay out his way for like a half hour. Now the suns out. As soon as I got done there it was. Battle weary Horses: Love the hard packed mess the State Boys leave! Elvis had a big job. Had to move this pile back! This is what a melted block heater looks like! Edited February 3, 2021 by squonk
