squonk 41,164 #26 Posted February 2, 2021 It was supposed to start snowing at 2AM. Phone rang at 5:50 this morning telling me the place I retired from is closed today. Thanks for the call! Almost 7:30 and the amount of new snow we got wouldn't even get @Lane Ranger out with one of his RJ's! We are right on the edge of the snow. They say it's "supposed to pick up" we will see. @rjg854 is about 7 miles east of me. Prolly got a foot! 1
rjg854 11,389 #27 Posted February 2, 2021 It is snowing Mike, maybe an inch so far. Going to wait a couple more hours before I try to do any clean-up. But I have gotten a lot of seat time lately

There is more snow blowing off the roof than falling from the sky here.

pfrederi 17,741 #34 Posted February 2, 2021 Started snowing Sunday afternoon still snowing. Never really hard but consistent. Some drifting so hard to say how much about a foot but looks like it will continue for awhile. Snow horses are still resting in the shop. As I said we only move snowflakes once....

ebinmaine 67,688 #36 Posted February 2, 2021 Got up at 4 am. Had about 8" on the flat of the side deck. Work is fairly quiet and we don't deliver in the snow storms so I was already planning on staying home. Boss texted and said they closed the store. Niiiice. Cleared the snow from the horse stable (tarp garage) and side deck. Supposed to snow ❄️❄️ all day till evening or later here. Trina does "work from home" toady so she can't go play seat time til 4 pm. Like @pfrederi Paul, we prefer to move snowflakes only once so I'll likely wait til later and BBT can attack the yard with me. Still accumulating but VERY fine. I'm thinking we'll end up with about 10" or so of densely packed snow. Been hovering around 21 to 24 degrees for 24 hours or so. Great for plowing.
squonk 41,164 #37 Posted February 2, 2021 Still waiting for the Town of Fayette Highway Superintendent to plow his own driveway with town equipment. ( He lives a couple of houses down)
squonk 41,164 #38 Posted February 2, 2021 (edited) Took the garbage out. We got maybe an inch. Snow is picking up a tad. We'll see if I made the right move putting the snow blower tractor in the front of the line! Retired engineer neighbor now out with his snowblower cutting thru 2"drifts. Really putting it thru it's paces. I wonder if he's one of those Consumer Reports test guys? Edited February 2, 2021 by squonk
Chestnut 315 #39 Posted February 2, 2021 About a foot in southern NH. Neighbor, where I store the Simplicity in winter, had to go to work for 9 so I went over around 8. The neighbor from the other side was already 3/4 done with that drive with his Kubota. So my Simplicity got plowed out by the Kubota. He at least left me the dignity (and swat time) to blow my own drive. Gave my phone to the boss for some photos but dogs playing were a far more interesting subject than me blowing snow. Report from Augusta is only about 6". Wheel Horse will need to wait a couple weeks to clear the roof snow. 4 1

They're outside for hours watching the world go by and making sure the cars don't move without them. Two hours in the woods Sunday and an hour and a half yesterday. Snow shoes will have to come out today and we'll need a spot where parking is plowed. When snow is deep they may let us break trail.
rjg854 11,389 #45 Posted February 2, 2021 Just went out and cleaning the walkways to the outbuildings and the bird feeders, maybe 2 1/2". It's barely snowing and it's really fine. The little lady gets home @ 5, so I'll go out a couple of hours before that and plow.

Handy Don 12,244 #47 Posted February 2, 2021 A new 12" on the driveway this morning after I cleared 6" yesterday morning. Helped out some neighbors, too. One had their snowblower break down. The other was using a Ryobi battery electric snow broom and didn't know what to do with the 30" pile of compacted stuff the village plow left across the end of their driveway!
