How Do You Drink YOUR Coffee

Recommended Posts

71_Bronco

I'm sure I'm not the only one who starts their day with coffee. I drink it for the yummy taste, and sometimes have myself a cup at night when I'm relaxing in front of the TV before bed.

I typically drink mine with a little bit of sugar and some half-and-half. I usually go for the lighter roasts of coffee.

Occasionally I will indulge with a cup of espresso, but I can't drink it black. Need to add a little cream to make a capachino, or add it to a cup of coffee for a "red-eye".

So what do you drink?

A top shelf thread idea if there ever was one!!

My very first YouTube video.

LOVE cofffffeeeee.

I drink it with 2 extra cream or half n half.  No sugar.

During the work week I use a timed coffee machine for the sake of convenience.

On days off I boil it cowboy/camp style.

Open boil. No filter.

It makes a wonderful sweet java.

The best part of waking up is Folger's in your cup :laughing-rolling:

I drink @ a pot of coffee a day, and the only way I'll drink is black.

Two scoops of 8 o'clock beans ground fine and added to an Aeropress. 175° water for double espresso and then fill the cup. Add 2 level of sugar and a little heavy cream. Kroger has the thickest stuff. If I'm on the road, it's Drunkin Donuts all day.

You're weird? :confusion-confused: I love the smell of coffee in the can. Can't stand the taste. I used to be fascinated with my Grandmother's percolator coffee pot when I was little. I have about 30 coffee mugs. I drink orange juice.:)

To answer 71_Bronco's original question, I usually take mine with a little bit of milk, but will drink it black if necessary.  Never sugar.

We buy mostly Folgers Classic Roast. Tasha mixes hers about a half cup coffee and the rest cream and sugar. Me on the other hand it has be to be straight black and strong enough to stand a spoon up in. Most people say I make my coffee way to strong, so I have my own pot here at the house, and my own pot at work. Most days I am not more than 3 feet away from my coffee cup all day long, and will go through 3 pots a day most generally.

Oh and when I’m home on days off I have to have my coffee in my special cup that was my great grandads. He had two of these and when I would go to visit as a kid he drank his coffee out of one and I drank my coffee out of this one, so it is very special to me

Good thread share.

Especially liked your own commentary.

I do use cream but I LOVE strong coffee.

Cowboy legend has it that coffee was done right when you could float a horseshoe in it.

I'd agree.

I drink it black.  Sometimes, for a treat, I like to add a jigger of Frangelico (woodruff), or Kahlua, or Amaretto.  :occasion-xmas:

I really only had and have one addiction in my life and that is coffee. In the morning one cup black without sugar. However through out the day I quite possibly have at least six to ten expressos also without sugar. It has been that way for many years. Coffee does not affect me the way it does most people. I actually cannot sleep well if I don't have an expresso before bed.The new machines like the Longhi that I have with the pods makes it even easier to just make one.

Same here.

I do occasionally sip down a bit for an evening warm-up.

When camping our friend and I are well known to have a cup before bed.

Thanks to you all I've got a wicked craving for some so ....

Your lucky I can't drink caffeine after lunch I will be up all night.  Years ago the last time I drank mountain dew I didn't sleep for 2 days.  Soda in general is horrible for you anyway it's probably been 12 years or so since I even drank can or bottle of it

Agreed.

We drink VERY little soda.

Trina's like you with the caffeine. Anytime after about 10 am or noon and she's wound for sound for hours.

She does NOT need more flippin' energy.

We drink ours black.  We don't pollute it with anything.  Our preferred brand is B2 blend that is sold at the Katy Depot Museum in Sedalia, Mo.

I got introduced to espresso during a business trip to Spain.  On subsequent overseas trips, I made it a point to bring home some espresso grind from wherever I was, usually Spain or Brazil. After the company was bought by a Brazilian firm, I was able to talk some of the corporate guys from the home office to bring coffee when they came to the U.S. on business.  Still trying to rework my supply chain since I retired a couple years ago.

@jabelman - I kept an espresso machine in my office.  One afternoon, I made a batch and offered some to the two interns we had working with us.  Being curious, they accepted.  While they were experiencing their first espresso, I noticed that they both had a partially finished can of one of those high caffeine energy drinks.  They vibrated around the office for the rest of the afternoon!

WHX??

I'd tell you guys how I drink my coffee but might be considered a little racy for a family forum. Maybe post that joke in the funnies section.

Had access to coffee 24/7 on Uncle Sam when on the submarine and surface ships and never touched it. All you cared to drink too. Just didn't have the taste for it. Also when working towards earning your dolphins it was mandatory to serve any qualified submariner on watch their coffee exactly how they liked it. If you messed it up, and eventually you did, getting signed off on a system could be real painfull.

Started drinking it when I was late in my thirties and have only one cup in the am or I gotta  pee like a race horse all day.

Hot n black n strong.  Horseshoes heck EB float an anvil in mine and still too weak!

Fav mugs on the valence above the kitchen sink...stop over and have a cup of Joe. :)

Coffee!  Surely we should also include TEA the drink of choice for us English chaps lol.

But I did just buy one of these new fangled coffee machines advertised by your lovely Mr.Clooney on TV.

20210126_140648.jpg.90d9590b81cdf19f551bc480cd87f683.jpgI know,  I know its not proper coffee if it wasn't brewed in a tin pot over a lightly burning cowboy or some such.

But for a non coffee dumpling like me it works.

Only trouble is the choice of coffees. I got 100 free capsules with it and so about 15 different flavours, strengths and sizes of cup. From Espresso to Alto we have our own coffee shop lol.

Sorry I'm not a purist but as a life long tea drinker I don't think its too bad.
