Redahead 0 #1 Posted January 30, 2021 I saw a Wheel Horse Walk behind snow blower this morning on facebook market place. The guy had a $100.00 bucks on it but I was a day too late. I never saw or heard of one. Anybody else had any experience with these.
wh500special 2,163 #2 Posted January 31, 2021 They were a late 1960’s into the early 1970’s carryover from the Reo purchase. There were 5 and 7 hp models. All used tecumseh engines. the 2-stage blower head was easily removed and could be replaced with a 32” mower deck attachment. I think they are pretty nice machines. I used one for several years at my last house and really liked it. Still have it and if you’re near STL I guess it can be for sale. I don’t remember what it is, but there is something weird about the crankshaft on the engine that makes an engine swap/replacement difficult. They’re good machines. Probably comparable to a similar vintage Ariens or Gilson. steve

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #4 Posted January 31, 2021 They start at 17in width on the first page and go to 26in width on the 2nd page https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/category/28-snow-blowers/?sortby=file_name&sortdirection=asc Many companies used a Tecumseh engine that had a 2nd pto shaft off the end of the camshaft that runs the opposite direction to the crankshaft. That is how they got a reverse for the wheels. Garry
