Goofey 89 #1 Posted January 27, 2021 (edited) Just thinking a list of all decks with info on blades and belts that match would be great. Perhaps also info on which tractor it matches to. Or does it already exist? Would also be useful for other implements I guess. Couldn't we all bid in and contribute to make it? I think so. Since the Charts have mistakes and missing info an attempt to make the info available is with the illustrated parts lists (IPL) if we have them. If not it will be with the operator manual (OM) but that is rare. Start by clicking on the empty Search box. A drop down menu will appear. Click on Files - now your search is just in the Files which is faster. Enter your tractor's model number correctly with a dash and don't confuse O's and 0's. The Search results will come up in no particular order. Look through them for Tractor..xxx..D&A....xxx.... The A is the Attachment list for that model of tractor and year. It shows the original attachment model number, the model number of the attachment that replaced the original attachment and the model number of the attachment that was available when the list was made. What is missing are the attachments between the first replacement and the last current model when the list was made. Models after the list was made are also missing. Since 1973 attachments for the long frame models will likely also fit the last tractor model in 2007 so there are a lot of them. If you are looking for belts and blades for a mower deck take the deck model number from the attachment list and start a new search. It may not be the deck you have but that is ok. When the results come up look for one with DNA in the file name. Open it and all the decks in that series are listed showing the possible deck number you have. Do a new search for your deck model. The blades and belts should be there except for some of the last models - still working on them. The mule belt is the drive belt. The exceptions are the few mowers that only use one belt from the engine to the spindles. Try it and let us know what you think. Garry 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Yes, you can find what you need, if you go thru all the IPS's and all of google and so on, but often you just stand in a situation where someone aske " Hey what belt do I need from engine to deck. I have a 42SD. No numbers. tractor is a 3xx something" or "What is the spindle belt length on a 60 HD deck" or "What blade number for a 42RD deck". So to me, it seems like it could be sweet with an easy to find, easy to scroll thru, list of the decks etc, with the common spares for them. Could throw in spindle bearings etc. But that's just my based on the fact that I'm lazy, and like the shortest route possible, to the info I need. If others can see the idea in that, then I will gladly help by throwing in what I have scribbled down, and do a little digging too. Good idea IMO! 76c12091520h 3,608 #8 Posted January 31, 2021 Such a reference guide does exist (somewhat); see the first 4 pictures: the manual pictured contains all of the transmission, spindle, and mule drive belts by part #, dimension, type (shape) etc. It also contains blade part #'s by application. It does not however cover spindle's, pulleys, stuff like that. That bring us to the 5th picture :my father spent several months on and off over the last year compiling a deck reference "book" covering all the common (popular) decks from 1970 thru the last of the classic series W.Horses; no vertical shaft stuff or XI equipment. It covers each year, each deck size, and breaks them down part by part. It was very tedious because you can't just sit down and look this stuff up on the web because alot of the information on the popular parts' sites is wrong or has been generalized over the years. 1 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
