Triton53 13 #1 Posted January 25, 2021 I have a 16hp Onan on my 416-8. The 3/8 pipe for the oil drain is loose and the only way i can see to tighten is to lift the engine. I was thinking about cutting the 90* off then unscrewing the pipe. If i do that, i plan on putting an Oil Change Valve in place of the pipe. There are a lot of drain valves on the market and they all say that they are the best! Has anybody done the swap and if so which valve did you use? Pro and Con ? Thanks, Pete
WHX?? 48,847 #3 Posted January 25, 2021 (edited) Common problem on the Onans & been discussed many times before. Not real difficult to raise the engine to spin the elbow. Remove all four engine to base bolts & get a pry bar under it and lift up just enough to get the elbow off. You can put a valve in there just make sure it can't accidently get opened. Just one such thread but do an all word search on Onan oil loose and you will find more. 1995 520H Onan loose seeping eng. oil drain pipe - Engines - RedSquare Wheel Horse Forum Edited January 25, 2021 by WHX24
