48” Dozer Blade Pivot Rod

Recommended Posts

PA Horseman

Good morning gentleman,

I’ve purchased a 48” dozer blade a few weeks ago, but it’s come to my attention that in my excitement to have one, I bought it without the rod that attaches the right hand lever to the plow to angle it.

Would anyone happen to have some notes and measurements as to how I could make a replacement?

Thanks

Someone else may beat me to it.... I can get some measurements later this morning.

We'd love to see pics of your tractor!

@PA Horseman    Just checked out my 48'' dozer blade Model # 0648BC03  Serial # 1061044 and tried to measure this mounted on the 417-8.  It appears to be 31 3/4'' long center to center with a 1 1/4'' right angle bend on  each end and 1/2'' diameter solid rod. Toro part #104338  $ 69.24 With 2 hairpins # 9335124 or make your own rod. If you look on Parts tree you will see the orientation of the right angle bends.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information. I'll have to try making this one of these nights, it seems simple enough.

I like your 417-8, it reminds me of the one my dad had when I was growing up. I never realized how nice it was until I got older!

You can find a lot of things I made for the snow plows here... And Jim has the dimensions above if I didn't include in my thread.

This is why I love Wheel Horses...the absolute simplicity of them. I just went to Home Depot and got rod and R clips for $8 and made the rod with your notes in about 30 minutes time. Here’s the final results, hopefully we’ll get some snow Monday to try it out!! Thanks to all for the help 😁
