giddyap 1,569 #1 Posted January 17, 2021 This is my first Scrap Metal motocycle. I always enjoy a title that draws my attention to an interesting article. I hope this one doesn't disappoint. Finding a use for my scrap metal, my "chopper" was fun to build and a challenge. A hobby in itself, examples can be found on google images and for sale on many market sites. Now I wander a little off topic. I display my "chopper" on the garage wall along with license plates, hub caps and photos. Some photos are of the first funny cars circa the 1960s at Thompson Drag Strip near Cleveland. At that track the Faronni Bros. won a record 208mph but fame went to Don Garlits who earlier broke the 200mph barrier elsewhere.Today my 73 Camaro I bought new would be worth a fortune, had I kept it. Today, some pick up trucks start at $70k, my 74 GMC had a sticker price of around $4500.
