Chris G 3,296 #79 Posted February 12, 2021 So heres some pics and a update. Got the motor all cleaned up and maintenance done that was needed. Installed mptor and clened carb. Will put the battery box, wiring and carb on next. I used engine tins from a parts machine and the hood from a parts machine. The hood was completely black underneath. Forgot to get a b4 pic and it also has a few little cracks and dings and 2 holes in the hood that someone drilled. But all of that is about to be repaired with some gorilla glue and clear resin. I have some real nice chrome hood pins from a parts donor and the hood stop has been cleared and heat guard has been repainted. And i also painted the letters on the tires. I know not everyone is a fan of that, but i like it so i went ahead and painted the tire brand, size and traction arrow on all 4 tires. 3 3
Chris G 3,296 #80 Posted February 12, 2021 Also the hoods patina will stay, i polished all the paint back out as shown in pic

I do have one tractor that I would like to do it to. Did you just free hand the paint on? What paint? Please tell.

I agree with that. 14 minutes ago, WHX24 said: Did you just free hand the paint on? What paint? Please tell. I bought a few of the paint markers for lettering tires. And then just steadily painted the area i wanted. Be careful if u do it, cause if u apply to much pressure the paint will come out faster then u hope for. 1

WVHillbilly520H 10,373 #91 Posted February 19, 2021 One of the cool things about those era JD (up to the 300 series) was how much the drivetrain was like WH side mounted engine and belt drive.

WHX?? 48,815 #97 Posted February 21, 2021 Calendar shot rite ther Chris you get on the right forum... bet them JD guys would be drooling in their shorts! Sry not enough for me too switch teams tho. I like you fellas here! You really done did good tho and in fairly short order. You know how well I like them tires Jeffery tho I never had them in the snow. Plow field.... yah doubt Firestone 23's would even hold a candle. Truth be told Chris I probally would have opted for some kind of tri ribs for the fronts. I just never cared for ags on the front of a 2wd tractor but yer build so I get it.

I will be taking the johnson 10 loader off my other 110 and restoring it completely and installing on this machine!
