what happens if the tire streches will it still fit

I've had tires on & off the rim multiple times, never had a stretching issue.

1990-97 520s (also the xi series) have 8.5" wide wheels with approximately 3" of backspacing (I had enough room for IH cub weights on the inside) how much are you willing to spend on tires? because those OTRs I brag up are only $40 more than Deestone on eBay. Also check out my tire thread... Again just my experiences.

Thanks for the info. I pulled the tires off the wheels I have and they're actually 7.5 inches. an inch less backspace than the Wheel Horse wheels. I guess the answer to your question about how much I'm willing to spend is the reason for the 20 questions. I'd rather have $200 well spent than $150 poorly spent on something that doesn't work well.

My work experience in the off-road forklifts has shown me that the old standard R1 AG/bar tire is superior on rough tough ground to the newer (IMHO a compromise) R4 found on most SCUTs for sale.

I do believe based purely on vision and that experience that the OTRs Jeff is writing about would be a great tire. I like the short "straight" parts that line up with each other right down the middle of the tread.

Seems to me they'd offer a better all around grip and a smoother ride on hard surfaces.

I read some comments, maybe in another thread, about the importance of an air dryer on a compressor for filling tires.I pulled the tires off the two wheels I got with the snowblower. Guess which one had the tire with a few plugs. I'm guessing the PO didn't have an air dryer on the compressor. Or maybe they poked holes in the tire so they could inject water and then plugged up the holes. Nitrogen would be good, too.

I'm going to put off getting any Ag tires. Probably moving north in the next year or so and need to re-think the composition of the "herd", and that's a topic for another thread entirely. May need a dedicated tractor to get out and do trail/woodlot maintenance.

ADD to the herd.

Makes good composition.

I had the same problem because of the water that builds up inside a compressor
