Andy876 25 #1 Posted January 7, 2021 HELP! HI, I'm new to wheel horse's and the group. Redoing my first. It's an 876. Starter/generator wiring is killing me. Does anyone have PICS, not a diagram as I'm color blind. I just need to see where all wires run from and too! Any help is greatly appreciated
ebinmaine 67,695 #3 Posted January 7, 2021 Andy check here: They're nice wide open diagrams you should be able to make out even without the colors. If this doesn't quite get you there I can get you pics this weekend.
953 nut 55,329 #4 Posted January 8, 2021 The wiring on your 876 should be like the drawing below. Your cigar lighter would be connected to the "L" terminal of the voltage regulator. The wires from the battery to the ignition switch and from the ignition switch to the "A" terminal on the S/G should be #6 AWG as should the ground wire. All other wires can be # 12 or 14 AWG. If you have further questions we are here to help. We have uncovered a shortcoming in the factory wiring diagrams for S/G battery ignition systems with a four terminal voltage regulator. The wire from the regulator "Gen" terminal to the S/G "A" terminal was omitted. This drawing should clear that up.
Achto 27,622 #5 Posted January 8, 2021 Most of the old diagrams are in black & white. Just follow the lines for your connection points.
