Racinbob 11,045 #1 Posted January 3, 2021 A couple days ago an ice storm moved through and knocked out power for thousands including our daughters house. They just got it restored a couple hours ago. Many more aren't expected to get the power back on until tomorrow evening. We weren't affected. I woke up this morning to about 4" of very wet snow. One of my favorite sights is all the snow clinging to the trees so I snapped a few pictures. From inside out the back: Out the front: I had to hurry to get in some playtime. The temps were rising and it wouldn't last long on the asphalt drive. My wife took this: After I was done with the drive I couldn't resist a little ride out back: Made for a nice morning 4 7

Racinbob 11,045 #3 Posted January 3, 2021 Yesterday a friend in Sarasota said it was 77° and sunny. I still don't miss Florida though. 1
squonk 41,038 #4 Posted January 3, 2021 (edited) I'm getting a kick out of all the posts in here lately; It snowed!!! Better get out and plow it before it melts! I've plowed so much snow in 50 odd years I look out to see if it's melting. If it is I'm back in here. If it aint, Time for the Carrhart! The Dino @stevasaurus would love that! "No socks were needed to plow this driveway!" Edited January 3, 2021 by squonk 5 1
Racinbob 11,045 #5 Posted January 3, 2021 I still haven't tired of playing in the snow Mike. Here's an ariel shot of the place we had before the Florida move. That's on 26 acres and the drive to the house was 850' plus the turnaround going to the pole barn. It was about 25 miles closer to the big lake and got much more lake effect. I still never tired of it. 6

We're the same way after about a half dozen storms. But we need to keep the yard clear too.
stevasaurus 22,711 #8 Posted January 3, 2021 I went through my sock drawer this morning...really. I do wear them when I go ice fishing.. As often as I wear socks, I have enough for 5 people, and I know they are at least 20 years old. Time to split the herd.

squonk 41,038 #10 Posted January 3, 2021 (edited) Don't get me wrong. I still like plowing snow. Nothing better than being out in the elements with lake effect flakes as big as baseballs coming down. It's the "plow it before it's gone" that's a riot! Edited January 3, 2021 by squonk

ebinmaine 67,307 #12 Posted January 3, 2021 I went to flo-ride-ah back in 1987 and 88. No desire to go back. Too hot and too many humans.

Kenneth R Cluley 515 #17 Posted January 3, 2021 68 in Palmetto, (about 10 miles north of Sarasota) got a front on the way should be low 50's or high 40's a couple days this week. Nothing to push here!

In the mid-late 60's all the Sinclair in Central Texas changed to ARCO if I remember correctly.
