1973?

Recommended Posts

dw1973

Hello,

Can someone ID this wheel horse tractor?   I think it’s a 1973 but not sure of model.   Decals point me to a 73.    I have fond memories riding on that hood with my grandpa.  He used it to mow and till his garden.  Would like to find another one someday. Thanks in advance.

I would say probably a raider or maybe a charger

I am thinking 1973 or newer because '73 was the first year for the newer style PTO. Raider and Charger had the old style PTO lever.

:text-coolphotos:

That is the best reason I have ever heard for buying another :wh:. Even a hard hearted wife would have to go along with that thinking.

By the decals I am guessing a B-80  and so on. Or even . Could be a no name 8 or 10 or 12 and so on.

Could possibly be a no name from '73 on the side was only listed engine size and gearing, ie 16 auto, 12 8 speed etc.

I have bad eyes but that hood stand decal looks like the 73 style decal to me

:confusion-confused:        This is the IPL for a 1972 Bronco/Charger PTO.      :confusion-scratchheadyellow:         Never seen that Banjo PTO on an earlier model.

My guess would be a 1973 model. I can't tell if it's an automatic or manual, as that year the automatic's used the auto-stick in the middle of the console (as shown in the above picture).

I believe it is a 10 hp 8 speed. In 1973 .the 8 and 10 hp machines came without headlights , they were an option. The 12 , 14 and 16 came with headlights from the factory.

Thank you to everyone who responded.    Found a couple more pics.   Maybe I’ll find someone selling one someday just like it.

Look at that engine bay. There is so much room for activities.

YES, lights were optional on the 1973 Raider model. Se # 11.

Ah didn't now that, thanks have a 1970 raider 10 4 speed, with NO headlights.

His is definitely older, cause of the Kohler motor ans so it will be an 8speed.

My best guess is an 8-12hp no name. That deck is a pretty decent size, so the knocks the 8 and maybe the 10 out.

My vote is for a 12 no name.
