stuck shifterD250

Recommended Posts

I bought a d250 recently and took it in to get tubes in the tires and a new battery a cables and a hydrolic hose for the front loader. When they brought it back the engine started fine and the hydrolics were fine the shifter was a bit sticky and a had a bit of play but after slowly working thorugh it I found if I used a light slow touch it worked ok. I used it a couple of times and was enjoying it then after using it for a bit one day the shifter stuck in first and I can not get it to move out of first. Any Ideas on how to remidy this? the gears seamed to be fine no grinding and the clutch seemed to throw it out of gear for shifting just fine.

Thanks for any help.

I don't know the tractor or your conditions.

Is it possible there is water in the transmission and it is frozen.

It it sits for a while above freezing temps the water will separate from the oil and go to the bottom. Water will come out first when the drain plug is removed.

If it is frozen it takes a long time for any heat applied to melt ice on the inside.
