Mudrig150 298 #1 Posted December 27, 2020 It's been like 8 months since I was last on here... So I'm building a 1/16 scale RC semi truck. It's going to be almost 6 inches wide not counting the mirrors and almost 7 inches wide including them, almost 20 inches long, and 7 inches tall. The frame will be made of 4 pieces of 1/4" aluminum square tubing, 2 stacked on each side to get each frame to be 1/4" wide and 1/2" tall. For drive, it's going to have 2 crappy RC motors geared together, with a 2 speed gearbox with a crawler and a "road" gear, then it's going to go to a transfer case to give it 6 wheel drive. For tires, I'm going to try and find the 2.5" OD, .5" wide, and 1.5" rim tires and I can't I'm going to get a pair of wider solid tires and cut them in half to fit the rims. Most of it will be 3d printed, and even still it will weight a lot. I'm pretty excited. 6

Mudrig150 298 #3 Posted December 27, 2020 Already started on the front axle. The 2 main issues will be redesigning the model to fit the aluminum frame and also making everything work mechanically.

Mudrig150 298 #5 Posted December 27, 2020 Got the front axle printed, and yeah, I messed it all up. gonna be changing the whole design around and beefing up weak parts. Test printed some conventional U joints and they work pretty good.
WHNJ701 4,165 #6 Posted December 27, 2020 It would be cool if you made a rig body to fit over a garden tractor so you could drive it 1 1
